Dreamy Date Night: The Royal Palms

Saturday night date night is a sacred ritual for us. What's not to love about hitting the town with your smokin' hot significant other?! Not only is it the day/night we always reserve for spending some serious QT with each other, but because we don't get a ton of time together during the week, we try to get creative with our date night outings and really make it count. Since we started dating, these date nights have become a really cool way for us to explore our city and find new places to discover and enjoy together, which usually means stepping outside our little neighborhood, but not this Saturday! This weekend we drove less than a mile to find otherworldly, Arizona-style bliss and some of the best cocktails our lips have ever tasted, and it. was. amazing!

The Royal Palms has been on our date night hit list for a long time now, and even though we'd been there briefly before, we didn't really know what to expect. Phoenix, and especially the Camelback/Biltmore/Paradise Valley area is known for its incredible luxury resorts, and each different one has its own special charm. Exceptional restaurants, one-of-a-kind spas, gorgeous pools and golf courses, killer views, dreamy rooms... you name it, they've got it! But we've been to almost every resort in the area for one reason or another, and we've gotta say, there's just nothing quite like the Royal Palms on the roster. The second you step through the impressive entrance, you're instantly transported to another place... somewhere almost tropical... a lush, rustic, relaxing, cozy oasis that's completely sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city. We had so much fun exploring the grounds, snapping pics against the hotel's insanely photogenic backdrop and sipping some extremely inspired cocktails at what will surely be one of our new favorite neighborhood cocktail spots, The Mix Up Bar that for a tiny moment, we contemplated turning our date night into a little staycation and playing hooky on Monday. Yep... it's just that cool! If you're traveling to Phoenix and trying to decide where to lay your head, we'd put this place at the top of your list, and if you live in the city, we'd seriously recommend stopping in to say hi to Charlie at The Mix Up Bar and having him stir you up something delicious. So here's to dreamy date nights, creative cocktails and steamy summers!
