Fall Home Decor Favorites
We know that fall wardrobe refreshes are at the forefront of everyone's minds this time of year, and although we do love a good fall outfit (we've already posted some fun fall outfit inspiration here, here and here on the blog), there's something about fall that really turns our attention toward our home. We're compelled to purge the clutter that has sat unused all summer long, spruce up our yard and outdoor living space as the temps here in Arizona start to cool down and of course, refresh some of those decor details around our little ranch home and turn it into the coziest little hygge space you ever did see! And yes, we can't get enough of the hygge over here!

Once fall hits (the official day is tomorrow, people!), swapping out some of our standard decor pieces with a few new fall decor items helps add a little extra warmth and coziness that this season is so beloved for. Now we're not talking a total overhaul of every item in every room in our house (that would be slightly nuts, no?!), just a few fun fall touches here and there that will most likely stay through winter and if we're really in love with them, become permanent fixtures once the weather warms back up again. It always starts with the kitchen, rolls right into our living space and finally, those cozy fall decor favorites find their way into our bedroom to make snuggling up at night from fall to winter just a little bit more, well, snuggly!
Though our house is pretty transitional in style overall, for fall I feel like we lean a little bit more toward farmhouse-style decor, which you'll notice when you peruse our favorite fall decor items that we rounded up below! Fall feels slightly more rustic than spring or summer, with more natural, soft textures and warm, fall landscape-inspired hues and elements everywhere, which is all reflected in farmhouse style really naturally. Those autumnal tones are just so good, aren't they? Red, burgundy, marigold, orange, pink, gold, green - together they just make magic! If you're heading out to some fun fall destination to catch the fall colors this year, you're in for one of the best shows that nature puts on! And if you need some fall travel inspiration for catching the colors for the first time, we have the most epic trip already planned for you in this post!
One of the growing trends at the center of this year's fall decor is copper. Copper copper and more copper. And we couldn't be more on board with this trend and integrating it into our home as much as possible! It's basically a pink, right? No? Either way, we've always loved a good copper item (see our beloved vintage copper kitchen tins here), but this fall we're especially smitten with the idea of integrating copper decor and kitchen items as a way to add warmth to our space without going overboard on the kitschy fall decor (Chris made it clear that we were to have zero fake corncobs, scarecrows or faux hay bails randomly lying around. Heard, Carter!) Elegant, subtle fall decor. That's what we're after. And there's no more beautiful or understated way to get that fall feeling than these stunning copper nesting bowls and copper cups from Barn Light Electric! We love how simple these copper designs are, yet how big of an impact they make when used in our space. As always, the Barn Light Electric folks put tons of time and care into crafting their items and these stunners are certainly no exception. The nesting bowls are so perfectly versatile and those copper cups aren't solely relegated to Moscow mule use - we're already plotting all of the spicy fall cocktails that will occupy those beauties! These will definitely be a year-round addition to our kitchen/home, both for practical and display purposes. They're just. so. pretty.
One of our other favorite fall decor items that's already seen tons of use this season is this vanilla-cinnamon candle in a gorgeous gold vessel from Anthropologie. It fills our house with the most delicious smell and automatically makes us melt into total relaxation the second we step through the door. The Little Book of Hygge can help explain why candles are not only a seasonal essential, but a hygge essential in general, which is why we're also including the book in our list of fall home favorites. It's the tiniest coffee table tome there ever was, and that's just how hygge does it! Our misuse of that word probably borders on criminal at this point, but just roll with it. We're into it!
We also really love using this "Homemade Cookies" jar as our wood kitchen utensil crock in the fall - using a decor item for anything but it's intended use is our specialty around here. Rules shmules. I also love integrating mauvey pinks with other fall hues as a little unexpected (but totally appropriate) fun fall color choice, and this floral-print mauve pillow is the perfect way to do that. This soft pink velvet pillow is also pretty fantastic, and also totally on-trend on the velvet front. It's everywhere this fall!
